Cars + Technology = performance chips

Are you a tuner searching for more power? Or just interested in the idea of increasing more power? Performance chips are the way to go, especially with turbocharged and diesel automobiles. This is one of the aspects where cars and technology finally meet for a tuner's dream. Performance chips are extremely easy to install. Simply take out a section of your dashboard, pull out the factory chip and replace it with the performance chip. Done.

Getting into how the chips itself works is actually not too difficult. When the performance chip is all hooked up, it is then all about throttle control. Depending on how fast or how far you throttle the car, the information is sent to the performance chip. The chip then looks into its lookup table. This is where the chips decides what to do. Hence "lookup", it goes through its options of how to respond to the change in throttle. For example, if you press it to the floor the chip will make sure the car shifts at a higher RPM to get the best results for going faster.

These chips not only help with shifting but depending on how much money you spend they can even control the amount of air and gas to flood into the engine. From doing a couple searches for chips, Amazon.com has an innovative chip going for $59.99 claiming to give 35 more horsepower and 5 more MPG.
